+ me as a human and me as Madison WI wedding photographer

Alright. Somehow you are here. It’s probably because you are going to marry someone, someday, soon. You are going to marry someone who elevates you to the sky and back, gives you good goose bumps every time he or she touches you; you are ready to spend the rest of your life with that someone. And that’s fucking exciting!
You also are here because wedding photography is important to you. You are looking for Madison WI wedding photographer, you are picky about it because you are looking for something different.
We probably have never met before. Maybe we exchanged some emails, maybe we talked over the phone and you are wondering “who the hell is this guy with mild (-ish) Northern European accent. But then again, maybe we didn’t.
So here we go: little introduction about me as a human and me as Madison WI wedding photographer.

Sandi and Andy and I right after the wedding I photographed in Black Rock Desert in 2015 during the Burning Man festival.

I grew up in Lithuania, went to school there and got myself a degree in civil engineering. Life went on, one thing led to another and I ended up coming to Madison Wisconsin in year 2001. Since then I’ve worked in restaurant industry, as a real estate broker, and since 2012 I’ve been a full-time Madison WI wedding photographer and editorial photographer.

“Diversifying my work helps me to keep photography fresh and exciting”

I am down to earth guy who spends most of his time with wife, two kids and Australian cattle dog. When not working, I cook, get around town on my bikes, workout at my favorite Ford’s Gym, read books and travel the world whenever I get a chance.
I like new challenges- life without them is a boring life. If things get too easy it usually is a signal for me that it’s time to step out of the comfort zone again and discover something new.
Besides being Madison WI wedding photographer (which roughly is 1/3 of photography I do) I also specialize in portrait photography and shoot for several local and national publications as a freelance editorial photographer. I intentionally diversify my work so I don’t burn out and get bored. Diversifying my work helps me to keep photography fresh and exciting. It also challenges me and learn new things every day and throw. New techniques and tricks I discover shooting portraits and editorial assignments, transfer to my wedding photography work and vice versa.

“care about others, love big, be yourself, be honest, live today, take risks, travel a lot, work hard and party even harder”

Wedding photography style I advocate at the weddings, matches my personality well: it’s wedding photojournalism and I take it very seriously. I see it as a true and honest reflection of happenings without artificial fluff and sugarcoated meows. I don’t make up scenes, I don’t set up moments. I don’t boss you around and I let you be real you. And while wedding photojournalism is lots of draining brain work, observations and anticipation on a wedding day, I would take it any given day above any other photography style.
In my off wedding life I stay true to my every day values: care about others, love big, be yourself, be honest, live today, take risks, travel a lot, work hard and party even harder.
